One of the most important things I emphasize to patients, is the correlation between their oral health and their body`s general health. Studies and practical experience has demonstrated such a close relationship between poor oral hygiene and several serious medical conditions. Our greatest desire is to see smiling patients that are free from gum disease, gingivitis, periodontal disease, as well as tooth decay. Great home care and regular dental visits are necessary to protect both the health of your body and mouth.
It has been my experience as a practicing dentist for nearly 20 years, that my patients with good oral health are generally more healthy overall. Gum disease such as Gingivitis and Periodontal disease along with tooth decay can cause or accentuate other health issues. I see this each day I go to the office. Good oral health not only improves a persons smile, ability to chew, and speak, it is also essential for the overall health of the body. Diet, Good Oral hygiene, and regular dental visits are our best ways to improve oral health.
